A new development has occurred in the investigation conducted into Ankara Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu. Following Beşikçioğlu's arrest by the decision of the Ankara West 2nd Criminal Court of Peace, the Ministry of Interior announced that he has been suspended from office as a temporary measure.

The Ministry of Interior announced that Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu has been suspended from office.
It was reported that the decision was taken following Beşikçioğlu's arrest as part of the investigation conducted against him.
ARRESTED AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION
In the statement, it was noted that Beşikçioğlu was arrested by the decision of the Ankara West 2nd Criminal Court of Peace dated 02.08.2026 and numbered 2026/744 inquiry.
It was stated that the investigation is being conducted regarding various charges.
