Erdoğan emphasizes 'softening' in Eid al-Adha message

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has released a message for Eid al-Adha. Erdoğan's emphasis on the period of political softening and inflation in his holiday message did not go unnoticed.

Erdoğan stated, "We observe with satisfaction that the climate of softening that has emerged in politics contributes to our nation embracing each other once again."

Arguing that the process of getting rid of the 'inflation monster' has begun, Erdoğan said, "We will hopefully see good results in inflation starting from the second half of the year."

Erdoğan's holiday message is as follows:

"My dear nation, I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings and affection. I sincerely congratulate you on the Eid al-Adha we have reached. I pray to my Lord that these blessed days bring goodness to our nation, the Islamic world, and all of humanity.

May Almighty Allah accept the sacrifices we make and the worship we perform. I wish for our entire nation and the Ummah of Muhammad to reach many more holidays in health, peace, and happiness.

I especially congratulate the Eid al-Adha of my brothers and sisters who are observing the holiday under the oppression of genocidal Israel in Gaza, and I wish for our brothers and sisters who are suffering, being oppressed, and facing massacres every day to attain an environment of peace, security, and stability as soon as possible.

Holidays are exceptional days when feelings of unity, solidarity, and brotherhood are experienced at the highest level. Holidays are special days when orphans, the destitute, and the needy are remembered, kinship and neighborly relations are strengthened, and we bond more tightly as a nation.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, unfortunately, distances were placed between our neighborly, kinship, and friendship relations. Through holidays, we close these distances and remember the importance of visiting relatives more often.

Our ancestors said that what is out of sight is out of heart. As a nation, we are going through days when we need unity of heart, unity of mind, and solidarity more than ever.

We observe with satisfaction that the climate of softening that has emerged in politics contributes to our nation embracing each other once again. I believe that we will turn this holiday into a true feast of brotherhood by joining our hearts together.

We have experienced three consecutive elections in the past year. Our democracy emerged stronger from all of these elections. As the government, we have a 4-year term of service ahead of us. High inflation in the world continues to be a source of concern.

We have entered the process of getting rid of the inflation monster that shares our food, our work, and our bread. Our economic program is bearing fruit in terms of production, employment, and exports.

We will hopefully see good results in inflation starting from the second half of the year. We are a government that has raised the prosperity of this nation, from farmers to civil servants, from white-collar workers to laborers, to the level of developed countries.

We will definitely reduce the inflation problem, which has recurred due to reasons such as the pandemic, wars, and global crises, to single digits, just as we did in the past.

It is out of the question for us to compromise on the historic gains we have achieved in the fight against terrorism.

We will continue our operations until we put an end to the separatist terror scourge that has been sucking the blood and resources of our nation like a leech for forty years.

We maintain our firm stance against the genocide policy that Israel has been carrying out in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7.

The amount of humanitarian aid we have sent to Gaza has exceeded fifty-five thousand tons. We have stopped all commercial transactions with Israel. We have decided to intervene in the genocide case at the International Court of Justice. We are one of the countries that exert the most intense effort for the recognition of the State of Palestine.

Despite all the pressure from the Zionist Network, we defend rights, justice, and peace on every platform, and we do not hesitate to shout the truth courageously. Despite all the barbarism of child-killer Israel and its supporters, victory will hopefully belong to the Palestinian people.

In these difficult struggles, our greatest source of strength and inspiration is the prayers, support, unity, solidarity, and the spirit of brotherhood among our nation.

The more tightly we embrace each other as a nation, the more easily we overcome problems and the more successfully we wage our struggle. Our brotherhood, which we renew through holidays, and our consciousness of mutual assistance and solidarity are particularly important in this respect.

This holiday, we will again kiss the hands of our elders and the eyes of our little ones, knock on the doors of our spouses, friends, and neighbors, make peace if we are estranged, and hopefully, we will further reinforce our eternal and everlasting brotherhood.

With these thoughts, I pray that Allah accepts the worship of my brothers and sisters who are performing the Hajj pilgrimage in the holy lands, and that He accepts the prayers they make in the Kaaba, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.

As in every holiday, I once again advise our drivers who will set out on the road to obey traffic rules, never to set out tired, and especially to increase their attention as they approach their destination.

I wish for Eid al-Adha to bring peace to our hearts, well-being to our country, and peace to our region, especially in Palestine and Sudan.
