Erdoğan had pinned his badge: MP who switched from YRP to AKP erased his past

Suat Pamukçu, an Istanbul MP who entered the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) on the New Welfare Party (YRP) list in the May 14, 2023 General Elections, resigned 10 months after the election and joined the AKP.

After joining the AKP, Pamukçu applied to the Speaker of the Parliament to withdraw 3 legislative proposals he had submitted during his time as an opposition MP with the YRP.

According to a report by Gazete Duvar, the legislative proposals submitted by Pamukçu regarding "the establishment of social security expertise within the Social Security Institution (SGK) and the improvement of financial rights for personnel and managers working in the institution," "the requirement for international treaty ratification proposals to be reviewed by the Constitutional Committee and the Human Rights Investigation Committee first," and "the increase of quotas reserved for disabled individuals in public and private sector workplaces" were read in the General Assembly of Parliament and withdrawn.
