Erdoğan holds phone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev

During the call, Erdoğan congratulated Aliyev on the victory of the New Azerbaijan Party, which he leads, in the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan.

Emphasizing that the election results demonstrate the trust the brotherly Azerbaijani people have in the actions of Aliyev and his party, President Erdoğan stated that it was gratifying that the elections took place in a democratic environment, in peace and tranquility. 

AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan also noted the importance of the elections being held across all of Azerbaijan's sovereign territory, including the regions liberated from occupation, for the first time in 30 years.
