''Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh. The latest situation in Gaza and the ongoing process were discussed during the call. During the conversation, our President Erdoğan stated that Turkey is making efforts to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza and that the wounded can be treated in Turkey when necessary, and that it is striving for a ceasefire to be achieved in the region as soon as possible. Our President Erdoğan also expressed that a permanent solution to the Israel-Palestine issue cannot be achieved without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem within the 1967 borders, and that Turkey will continue to fight in the international arena for lasting peace.''
