Erdoğan issues instructions regarding the explosion in Balıkesir

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement regarding the explosion that occurred in the Karesi district of Balıkesir. Erdoğan stated, 'We have instructed that the necessary investigation be launched immediately in all its aspects, after receiving information from all our relevant institutions, primarily our Governor.'

According to initial findings, 12 people lost their lives in an explosion that occurred at an ammunition factory in Balıkesir.

The former headman of Kavaklı Village, located 800 meters from the factory, described the details of the moment of the explosion.

Stating that they were shaken by a very violent explosion, the former headman said, "There was an explosion. First the windows shook, then a fireball appeared. A section of the factory was destroyed. There are 20 people working on the shift. There were 300 people in the factory in total. It coincided exactly with the shift change time. There were also workers from the village," he said.

INVESTIGATION ORDERED BY ERDOĞAN

President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan made the following statement via his social media account:

''I am deeply saddened by the loss of 12 of our brothers and sisters as a result of the explosion that occurred at an ammunition factory in the Karesi district of our Balıkesir.

Regarding the explosion, we have instructed that the necessary investigation be launched immediately in all its aspects, after receiving information from all our relevant institutions, primarily our Balıkesir Governor.

I pray for God's mercy upon my brothers and sisters who passed away, extend my condolences to their families, and wish a speedy recovery to our wounded.
