Erdoğan makes remarks at the World Islamic Scholars Consultation Summit

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made remarks at the World Islamic Scholars Consultation Summit. While sharing his assessments regarding the Israel-Palestine war, Erdoğan also summarized what has been experienced during this period.

Highlights from Erdoğan's speech are as follows:

"Since October 7, Gaza has been experiencing one of the most brutal times in human history.

To date, 15 thousand children have been brutally murdered. 35 thousand of our sisters, mostly women, have been murdered.

2 million people have been forced to flee their homes and lands. We have witnessed scenes for which words are insufficient to describe.

Every right and rule concerning human rights and principles has been trampled upon before the eyes of the world.

15 journalists have been killed by Israeli forces.

We have even faced barbarism regarding the funerals of people they buried in mass graves.

Every kind of torture and atrocity that would make a human ashamed of their humanity has been committed in Gaza and on Palestinian lands over the past 219 days.

It was not done in secret; it was broadcast live to the whole world.

In the meantime, what didn't we see... We saw that countries that lecture us on human rights at every opportunity support Israel.

We saw that they did not say a single word for the journalists killed by Israel.

We saw that those who say the right to protest is sacred have no tolerance for demonstrations in support of Palestine.

We saw rectors dismissed from their jobs for criticizing Israel and students denied the right to speak.

We saw those who destroy the truth, those who remain silent, and those who carry water to Israel's mill.

Faced with this grave picture, Turkey has been in full solidarity with the Palestinian people. We are making intense efforts to prevent Israeli attacks.

We are the country that provides the most aid to Gaza. We send 127 tons of clean drinking water every week.

We are providing treatment for over 400 patients, including cancer patients.

Despite all the intimidation attempts by the global Zionist network, we are providing all kinds of support to Palestine.

We are in very close contact with the leaders of Hamas.

We have taken many steps in the fields of law and democracy to increase pressure on Israel.

We imposed trade restrictions on Israel in 54 product categories.

We have completely stopped trade with Israel.

With the decision we took, we waived a trade volume of 9.5 billion dollars.

We aim for the murderers to be held accountable.

We want the steps Turkey has taken in both trade and law to be an example to other countries.

This is not the first time Israel has attacked Palestinian lands, nor is it the first time it has committed genocide against the Palestinian people.

The occupation policy that began 76 years ago has continued from that day to this.

Israel considers itself entitled to shed innocent blood. The Israeli administration recognizes no rules, boundaries, or morality. We cannot expect humanity from those who act like a bloodthirsty terrorist organization.

One truth must be accepted. Zionists will continue to do whatever their collaborators order them to do. They will carry out the instructions given to them.

What we have experienced over the last 219 days tells us this very clearly. It is futile to expect pressure to be applied to Israel outside of the global systems, thanks to countries and societies with a conscience.

We witnessed this once again in the latest ceasefire negotiations. Hamas announced that it accepted the ceasefire proposal.

With our advice as well, Hamas took a very critical step.

Those in the Netanyahu administration, however, were in favor of attacking Rafah.

Did Netanyahu face any reaction to this arrogance? No. No reaction came from either Europe or America that would force Israel into a ceasefire.

We invite all countries that do not recognize the State of Palestine to recognize the State of Palestine as soon as possible.

It does not befit Muslims to hope for help from others. We are responsible for ourselves and what we do for the Palestinian people.

We must stand against oppression. In the test of Gaza, where human values are being tested, everyone will do what befits them.

As Muslims, we will do whatever our Lord commands."
