Erdoğan provides figures: 33 percent of officers were dismissed after July 15

Touching upon cross-border operations, Erdoğan once again signaled that the Claw-Lock operation would be concluded, stating, "We are determined not to allow any structure that poses a threat to our country along the Iraq and Syria line."

Speaking about the process following July 15, Erdoğan also provided information regarding dismissals within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), stating, "Of the 32,189 officers serving in the armed forces on July 15, 10,468, or 33 percent, were dismissed from our army. 1,524 of the 1,886 staff officers, or 81 percent, were dismissed due to FETÖ."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"The separatist organization is no longer able to carry out actions within our borders. In the Iraq and Syria field, the organization is now thoroughly cornered. We are closing the lock very soon in the Claw operation zone. We are determined not to allow any structure that poses a threat to our country along the Iraq and Syria line. We must absolutely dry up the swamp of terrorism.

We have largely purged our institutions, primarily our security units, where FETÖ had been secretly infiltrating for 40 years, of organization members. Of the 32,189 officers serving in the armed forces on July 15, 10,468, or 33 percent, were dismissed from our army.

1,524 of the 1,886 staff officers, or 81 percent, were dismissed due to FETÖ.

For example, the ties of all trainees studying in the 1st and 2nd years of the Naval War Academy were severed.

We have taken similar decisions in other levels and units. Furthermore, there were areas where we went for more structural changes."
