The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, continues its transfers of mayors.

Most recently, Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl, Çekmeköy Mayor Orhan Çerkez, and Şile Deputy Mayor Sacit Terzi joined the ranks of the AKP. Their badges were pinned by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Journalist Hacı Yakışıklı, known for his proximity to the government, claimed that Kilis Mayor Hakan Bilecen, who resigned from the CHP on June 5, will also join the AKP.

Yakışıklı stated that Erdoğan's approval is awaited for the transfer in question.

Speaking on Tv100, Yakışıklı's statements are as follows:

“Kilis Mayor Hakan Bilecen had resigned from the CHP. Currently, there is a possibility that Kilis Mayor Hakan Bilecen will switch to the AK Party. If the President approves, he will join the AK Party.

As for İzmir, when asked 'Will you join the AK Party?', Cemil Tugay reportedly tells his inner circle that he will continue as an independent. He is not using the expression 'I will join a new party' or 'I will return to the CHP.'

He is also not saying 'I will join the AK Party.'

However, we know that Cemil Tugay and the İzmir team have had a meeting with the AK Party Headquarters.

It has not been finalized yet. There are friends giving dates, but I am stating it as a current situation; there is nothing finalized in these matters yet.”
