Erdoğan travels to Egypt: Meeting with Sisi expected
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has traveled to Egypt for the D-8 Summit. Erdoğan is expected to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The latest developments in Syria will be discussed during the meeting.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has traveled to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on the private aircraft "TUR" to attend the D-8 Summit.
Erdoğan was seen off at Esenboğa Airport by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin.
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, MIT Director İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç also traveled to Egypt with Erdoğan.
HE MADE THE 'RABIA' SIGN
It was observed that Erdoğan made the 'Rabia' sign while greeting members of the press as he boarded the plane. The Rabia sign had been used by Erdoğan for a long time as a symbol used by those opposed to Sisi, who came to power in Egypt through a coup.
Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun stated the following regarding Erdoğan's official program:
"Our President will address the Summit, which will be held under the theme 'Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow's Economy,' and will participate in the Special Session on the situation in Palestine and Lebanon. Our President, who will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts attending the Summit, will exchange views with heads of state and government on current global and regional issues, primarily Syria and Palestine."
MEETING WITH SISI EXPECTED
Erdoğan is expected to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Syria will be on the agenda of the two leaders.
