A commemorative message came from President Erdoğan on the second anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes. Stating, "We will not compromise our determination until all our citizens have reached their safe and warm homes," Erdoğan added, "From the very first day, as a state and a nation, we said 'we stand as one' and we have not withdrawn our support from our earthquake-affected regions for even a moment."

Sharing his message via his social media account, Erdoğan included the following statements:

"On the second anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes, which deeply shook us all, opened great wounds in our hearts, and left indelible marks on the memory of our nation, I pray for God's mercy upon each of our 53,537 brothers and sisters whom we lost.

I once again wish patience to the relatives of our earthquake martyrs and to our nation.

From the very first day, as a state and a nation, we said 'we stand as one' and we have not withdrawn our support from our earthquake-affected regions for even a moment. From now on, we will continue our efforts to build and revitalize with labor, sweat, fortitude, and an iron will until our cities are fully back on their feet.

We will not compromise our determination until we have fully healed the wounds we have bandaged and until all our citizens have reached their safe and warm homes.

We will continue to keep the cherished memories of our loved ones whom we laid to rest alive in our hearts with amens, Fatihas, Yasins, and prayers. May the Almighty protect our country and our nation from such disasters."
