Erdoğan's harsh response to Özel: Saying 'Assad is gone, so the Syrians should go too' is a statement of pure ignorance

Erdoğan made statements at the Administrators' Day Program.

Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements:

-The office of the governor, which represents the President in our provinces, is the sole point where the state integrates with the nation. The religion of the state is justice. The governorship is the state's hand reaching out to the public. The governorship is a position of conscience and compassion. Adopting an approach that is always accessible and solution-oriented is one of the fundamental principles of the governor's office. Those who receive the curse of the nation will find no peace in this world or the hereafter.

-Our state tradition is built on an understanding that constructs the future. Our Century of Turkey mission is a manifestation of this tradition.

-If we want to make development, prosperity, and justice prevail throughout our country, we must start with our cities.

"GOVERNORS WHO EMBRACE THE ENTIRE CITY ARE THE ADMINISTRATORS WE WANT TO SEE"

-Our primary expectation from our governors is that they use the opportunities and resources entrusted to them by the state in a way that benefits our cities. Treating our citizens equally must be our way of life. There is no place in today's Turkey for the fascist mentality of the single-party era or the practices of February 28.

-Governors who properly implement our understanding of a benevolent state and who embrace the entire city, including its districts, villages, and neighborhoods, are the administrators we want to see.

-We expect our administrative officials to work in harmony with local governments, universities, and civil society. It is your duty to open new horizons for our cities by effectively using technology and communication tools.

-We were devastated on February 6; we suffered a great wound. We saw once again the importance of administrators during disaster periods. This process showed us the importance of administrators who can make quick decisions and take responsibility.

-A new era has begun with the collapse of the 61-year Baath dictatorship in Syria. The images of brutality reflected from the Saydnaya prison have shown us what kind of inhumane administration has reigned for years. We are facing terrifying news in the name of humanity. The damage caused to this country by the 13-year massacre policy exceeds 500 billion dollars. For the reconstruction of Syria, the physical infrastructure and economic order need to be comprehensively revived.

"A STATEMENT OF PURE IGNORANCE"

-For the main opposition party chairman to say 'Assad is gone, so the Syrians should go too' is a statement of pure ignorance. Anyone who has read a little bit of politics or war history would be ashamed to make such a sentence. We opened our arms with compassion to the oppressed Syrians fleeing the clutches of war. The main opposition has always been in an effort to expel them. In our civilization, as 'ansar' (helpers), it is never acceptable to expel the 'muhajir' (migrants). I even risked paying a political price for this cause. We also remind you of the racist politics of the candidate we faced in the May elections.

-We will provide every convenience to those who want to return to their homelands voluntarily. We will continue to hold the hands of our Syrian brothers and sisters who want to contribute to our country.

-There is now a new administration in Syria; the future of Syria will develop within the framework of the constituent administration that this management will establish. Important duties fall upon our administrative officials in successfully managing this new process.

-We constantly emphasize that there is no place for any form of terrorism in our country and our region. We have begun to reap the fruits of eliminating terrorism at its source. With the Syrian revolution, a historic window of opportunity has opened before both our country and our region. We will hopefully realize our dream of a Turkey without terrorism.
