Midnight wave of appointments and dismissals by Erdoğan

The decision regarding the appointments made by the Presidency has been published in the Official Gazette.

With the decision published in the Official Gazette, appointments were made to the Chairmanship and membership of the Public Officials Ethics Board. Zerrin Güngör was appointed to the Chairmanship from the Council of State quota, while Hakan Çavuşoğlu from the Ministry quota, Ali Karakaya from the Court of Accounts quota, Ahmet Karayiğit from the Court of Cassation quota, Kenan İpek from the Undersecretary quota, Hasan Murat Mercan from the Ambassador quota, Esengül Civelek from the Governor quota, İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu from the Provincial Mayor quota, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş and Prof. Dr. Muhammed Fatih Uşan from the Faculty Member quotas, and Sabri Hafif from the Professional Organization with Public Institution Status quota were appointed as members.

According to the decision, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nuh Yılmaz was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Syrian Arab Republic, and General Director of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Şebnem Cenk was appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Osman İyişenyürek, a member of the Board for the Examination of Mushafs and Recitation at the Presidency of Religious Affairs, was appointed as the Head of the same Board, a position that had been vacant. Abdurrahim Taş was appointed as the General Director of Legal Services and Yusuf Soner Çiftçioğlu as the General Director of Personnel at the Ministry of Justice, both of which were vacant. At the Ministry of Family and Social Services, Deputy General Director of Child Services Pınar Yavuzkanat was dismissed. At the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Osmaniye Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization Hamdi Görkem Gençtürk and Karaman Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization Ali Özcan were dismissed. Zafer Bektaş, the Amasya Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization, was appointed as the Osmaniye Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization; Derya Bulut was appointed as the Amasya Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization; and Ahmet Dursun was appointed as the Çankırı Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization. At the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bingöl Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Selahattin Yazar was dismissed. Fethi Fahri Kaya, the General Director of Higher Education and Overseas Education, was appointed as the Head of the Inspection Board at the Ministry of National Education, a position that had been vacant. At the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Fatih Kaya was appointed as Deputy General Director of Food and Control, Ergin Toprak as Deputy General Director of Plant Production, Kutluhan Özdemir as Deputy General Director of Agricultural Reform, and Mesut Akdamar and Fatih Özdemir as Deputy General Directors of Agricultural Research and Policies. At the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Deputy General Director of Transport Services Regulation Feriha Mert was dismissed and replaced by Hasan Boz. Furthermore, İbrahim Ercan Karacaoğlu was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish State Railways (TCDD), and Gökmen Kınık and Selamettin Ermiş were appointed as members of the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.

At the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, 2 thousand 410 individuals were appointed as Chief Tax Inspectors. Additionally, appointments of Inspectors and Chief Inspectors were made at the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
