President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made evaluations regarding the high-interest foreign currency fund case known publicly as the "Fatih Terim Fund."
Responding to journalists' questions on the plane while returning from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he attended the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Erdoğan said regarding the matter, "The process regarding the football player friends is ongoing. All investigations regarding the bank's top-level executives are also currently ongoing. I believe that we will get results in a short time."
"OUR PEOPLE MUST BE VERY CAREFUL"
Erdoğan stated the following:
"Turkey is a state of law, and whoever commits an unlawful act will face the consequences. The matter is in the judiciary, and the judiciary is conducting the necessary investigations regarding it. Our citizens must not fall into the various traps of fraudsters who offer high profits in a short time with promises of easy money. The state is, of course, pursuing them and breaking their games. However, our people must be very careful against these illegal fund promises and profits claimed to be obtained through illegal means."
"REGARDING THE BANK'S TOP-LEVEL EXECUTIVES AS WELL..."
"I believe that decisions regarding these issues will be made by the judiciary in the most ideal way. There is no such thing as avoiding this. Investigations regarding the suspects mentioned in this incident are ongoing. The process regarding the football player friends is also continuing in the same way. All investigations regarding the bank's top-level executives are also currently ongoing. I believe that we will hopefully get results here in a short time as well."
