President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Highlights from Erdoğan's remarks are as follows:
I am pleased to host my dear friend, United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in our country. I would like to welcome him and his delegation once again in your presence.
As strategic partners and allied countries, we have a close dialogue with him on many issues that occupy the international agenda. The focus of our meeting today was our defense and commercial relations. The United Kingdom is among our country's largest trade and investment partners. We aim to increase our trade volume to 40 billion dollars.
We are pleased that United Kingdom citizens see our country as their second home. To this end, we have started negotiations for the signing of a bilateral relations framework. The signatures for the procurement of Eurofighter fighter jets were exchanged between the delegations. We just signed it in your presence with Mr. Keir Starmer. I see this agreement as a symbol of the strategic relations between us as two close allies.
