CHILDREN WILL EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTIES OF RAMADAN IN EYÜPSULTAN
Eyüpsultan Municipality is organizing colorful and fun events that appeal to citizens of all ages and backgrounds during the month of Ramadan. To make children love Ramadan and to create unforgettable memories related to Eyüpsultan Ramadans, colorful and fun events will be held in the event tent seven days a week. Children will spend quality time with their families and experience the beauties of the month of Ramadan in children's art workshops.
A TRADITION IS REVIVED IN EYÜPSULTAN WITH THE “TEKNE ORUCU” (BOAT FAST)
As in every Ramadan, children will break their fasts this year in Eyüpsultan with the “Tekne Orucu” (Boat Fast). With the Tekne Orucu, an old and deep-rooted tradition of Anatolia that is on the verge of being forgotten, children who wake up for suhoor and do not eat anything until noon will break their fasts on weekends with the call to noon prayer.
1,000-PERSON IFTAR TABLE EVERY DAY
Eyüpsultan Municipality will provide an iftar dinner for 1,000 people every day in the event tent set up on Bahariye Street in front of the Sultan Reşat Tomb to host its guests coming from all over Turkey to break their fasts in Eyüpsultan in the best possible way.
EYÜPSULTAN WILL MEET WITH BOOKS DURING RAMADAN
Within the scope of Ramadan events, a Book Fair will be set up by the Eyüpsultan Municipality in the event tent. The fair, which will bring book lovers together with authors, will host its visitors throughout the month of Ramadan with the participation of 30 publishing houses.
The Book Fair, which will be one of the frequent destinations for citizens who want to spend the month of Ramadan in the spiritual atmosphere of Eyüpsultan, will be open every day between 12:00 and 23:00. At the fair, hundreds of works will meet with book lovers, from distinguished works of Turkish literature to world classics; from novels to poetry books, from essays to children's books.
Within the scope of the Book Fair, beloved authors of the literary world will also come together with the people of Eyüpsultan to organize talks and book signing days. Readers will have the opportunity to chat one-on-one with their favorite authors and have their books signed. The fair, which will feature publications prepared specifically for children, young people, and adults, will appeal to everyone who wants to spend time intertwined with culture and literature in the peaceful atmosphere of the month of Ramadan.
SPECIAL EXHIBITION FOR RAMADAN: “SACRED JOURNEY FROM HARAMAYN TO EYÜPSULTAN”
Eyüpsultan Municipality is hosting a meaningful exhibition during the month of Ramadan. The exhibition titled “Sacred Journey from Haramayn to Eyüp Sultan: Tiles Depicting the Kaaba” brings special works where traditional arts meet the aesthetics of the holy lands to art lovers at Gallery Eyüpsultan.
TILES DEPICTING THE KAABA AT GALLERY EYÜPSULTAN
In the exhibition, sixteen pieces of tile panels depicting the Kaaba, which are in the personal collection of tile artist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Timur Bilir and have examples in our country and world museums, are on display. The collection also includes framed works such as pilgrimage proxies and stone-printed hilyes (descriptions of the Prophet) that reflect the longing for the holy lands. The exhibition, which aims to create awareness about cultural assets, also revives the elegance and spiritual atmosphere of old times in the memories of the viewers through folk-style plaques that once decorated homes and tradesmen's shops.
“ONE TRADITION, TEN COLORS” EXHIBITION AT ENSARİ MANSION
Eyüpsultan Municipality is hosting another special exhibition that will add meaning to the spiritual atmosphere of the month of Ramadan. The exhibition titled “One Tradition, Ten Colors” brings traditional arts, which have roots in our civilizational memory, together with art lovers with a contemporary aesthetic understanding.
The exhibition, held at the Ensari Mansion, brings together the unique visions of ten different artists under the same roof, establishing a strong art bridge between the past and the present.
In the “One Tradition, Ten Colors” exhibition, the most elegant and refined examples of traditional disciplines are presented in harmony. Artists, each of whom produces unique works in their own field, re-examine ancient art branches such as Tile, Marbling (Ebru), Illumination (Tezhib), Calligraphy (Hat), Miniature, and Mosaic with contemporary interpretations.
The works in the exhibition not only offer an aesthetic visual feast; they also reveal the living and transforming aspect of our cultural heritage. The works, which emerge from the pens and brushes of ten different artists, unite around a single spirit and a common language of art. The exhibition, which will host its visitors throughout the month of Ramadan, invites all art lovers who want to experience an experience intertwined with art in the spiritual atmosphere of Eyüpsultan to the Ensari Mansion.

In addition to various workshops such as making Ramadan pita, güllaç, Ramadan sherbet, and homemade baklava at the Eyüpsultan Art and Vocational Training Courses (ESMEK), the beauties of Ramadan will be fully experienced with talk programs.
