Ex-officio investigation into Melih Gökçek

An investigation has been launched into former AKP Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek over allegations of transferring unregistered money to companies abroad.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an ex-officio investigation has been initiated regarding former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İbrahim Melih Gökçek.

In the statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that, "An ex-officio investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in order to reveal the material truth regarding the allegations put forward in some press and media outlets that unregistered money was transferred to companies abroad by İbrahim Melih Gökçek."
