Exodus from Istanbul begins: Long queues form
As the 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday begins, citizens leaving Istanbul have caused heavy traffic on roads leading out of the city.

On just the second day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, tens of thousands of Istanbul residents set off to spend the holiday in their hometowns or at vacation resorts. The vehicle density, particularly on exits from the city's Anatolian side, was notable. Citizens heading out for the holiday encountered kilometers-long vehicle queues at the Bursa North toll booths on the Istanbul-Izmir Highway.
The heavy traffic created by the large number of people departing from Istanbul was also captured from the air by drone. Most citizens traveling to Anatolia moved at a pace that occasionally came to a near standstill in traffic.
The long queues on the highway in Bursa caused difficult moments for drivers. Authorities reported that Gendarmerie and Police forces have taken extensive security measures and are providing guidance to ensure traffic flow. While vehicles inched forward, some drivers stated that they maintained their motivation despite the situation, while others complained about the heavy holiday traffic and expressed that they felt unlucky.
