Exodus in Yeniden Refah: Another mayor resigns

Following the resignation announced yesterday by Urfa Metropolitan Mayor Kasım Gülpınar, Yalıhüyük Mayor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz in Konya has also announced his resignation from his party. Along with Yılmaz, six municipal council members have also resigned from the party. In his resignation statement, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz used the phrase, "As a result of the decision we have made after considering every detail and the necessity we have seen."

The statement from Mehmet Ali Yılmaz, who won the election with 59.51 percent of the vote, is as follows:

With the support of our esteemed fellow citizens, we won the election as Mayor of Yalıhüyük with great favor in the March 31, 2024 local elections. On this path we embarked upon, we have always prioritized the demands and calls of our people by acting with a common mindset. Since the day we took office, we have always been transparent and shared the situation of our district and our projects, both completed and planned, with our valued citizens. We have always remained loyal to our bond of heart and will continue to do so.

On this blessed path we set out on with a passion for service and work for our fellow citizens who embraced us and did not spare their love and support, we will carry the sacred trust of our fellow citizens; we will strive to do our best with passion, affection, and projects to win hearts for the development of our district.

As a result of the decision we have made after considering every detail and the necessity we have seen, I, as Mayor, and all Municipal Council Members have resigned from the Yeniden Refah Party. I hope this decision will be beneficial for our district, our country, and our citizens.
