An expert report has been prepared regarding the jewelry following the investigation launched after the wedding of Van-based businessman and social media influencer Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, which drew widespread attention on social media.
As part of the investigation conducted by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police teams and MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) carried out an examination. In the investigation, Tançalan, his social media influencer wife Çağla Öz Tançalan, and a relative were arrested on charges of "laundering assets derived from crime."
In the examination conducted on the wedding jewelry seized in the outbuilding of a house, 97 pieces of jewelry were evaluated. According to the expert report, it was determined that 76 of these pieces were not gold. The phrase "not gold" was written in the report for the items in question.
The report stated that a 22-karat gold Indian-style necklace set weighing 580.04 grams, found among the seized jewelry, was determined to be genuine.
It was reported that the investigation is continuing through examinations regarding the jewelry gifted at the wedding and the assets involved.
