Expert report in Sinan Ateş murder case had emerged: Investigation by the Prosecutor's Office into the 'news report'!
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that an investigation has been launched into the news report by T24 Ankara correspondent Asuman Aranca, titled "T24 obtains the expert report in the Sinan Ateş murder file: The Ülkü Ocakları President requested Ateş's address!". The investigation was initiated on the grounds of "violation of confidentiality."

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the Sinan Ateş news report by T24 Ankara correspondent Asuman Aranca.
The statement indicated that the exclusive report, which detailed how data recovered from the phone of Tolgahan Demirbaş—who is also accused of helping the hitman escape in the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş—was entered into the investigation file via an expert report, was "contrary to the rule of confidentiality of judicial investigations."
It was argued that the news report could jeopardize the purpose of the investigation and lead to assessments that would damage the presumption of innocence.
The statement, which noted that an investigation has been launched into the person or persons who violated confidentiality, included the following expressions:
"The investigation conducted by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, known to the public as the Sinan Ateş murder case, is being carried out meticulously. While the confidentiality of criminal investigations is essential, a restriction order was issued for the aforementioned file by the Ankara 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace on 31.12.2022, upon the request of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office immediately following the incident.
On 29.12.2023, a news report was published on the website named T24, contrary to the rule of confidentiality of judicial investigations and the aforementioned restriction order; this report contained information that could jeopardize the purpose of the investigation, was capable of obscuring evidence and/or preventing the emergence of the material truth, and also led to assessments that would damage the presumption of innocence.
An ex officio investigation has been launched by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of Violation of Confidentiality under Article 285 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 against the person or persons who violated and disclosed the confidentiality of decisions and procedures that should have been kept secret within the scope of the investigation by making the aforementioned news report and similar posts.
