Explosion occurs at a gas station in Balıkesir

An explosion occurred in the administrative section of a gas station located in the Çayırhisar neighborhood of the Altıeylül district in Balıkesir. Those at the station experienced great panic due to the explosion. Station employees notified 112 emergency health services and the gendarmerie.

2 PEOPLE INJURED, 1 CAR DAMAGED

While items in the room were scattered due to the force of the explosion, 2 people were injured. One car was also damaged. The injured were transported to Balıkesir Atatürk City Hospital by ambulance.

While it is estimated that the incident occurred due to an air compressor explosion according to initial findings, fire department teams are continuing their investigation into the exact cause of the explosion. An investigation into the incident has been launched by the gendarmerie.
