Explosive claim from CHP deputy! Shares list by license plate: '42 IMM vehicles were allocated to Binali Yıldırım’s campaign'

CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, in a post on his social media account, claimed that public resources were used illegally during the 2019 Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral election campaign of AK Party candidate Binali Yıldırım. Yavuzyılmaz listed the license plate and brand information for all the vehicles in question and called on the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate the incident.

WERE VEHICLES LEASED BY THE IMM USED IN THE CAMPAIGN?

According to the allegations, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality leased 42 vehicles from a private company during the 2019 election process and allocated them to the AK Party candidate's election activities. It was further claimed that the fuel, driver salaries, HGS/OGS toll fees, and rental costs for these vehicles were covered by the IMM budget.

The list shared by Yavuzyılmaz included various vehicle brands such as Volkswagen Passat, Renault Megane, Renault Clio, Opel Insignia, Hyundai Accent Blue, Skoda Octavia, and Dacia Lodgy, with license plates such as 34NZ6370, 34NZ3428, and 34AIK069. Yavuzyılmaz emphasized that these vehicles were used in the election campaign and that this situation constituted an abuse of public resources for personal and partisan purposes.

CALL TO THE JUDICIARY

In his post, Yavuzyılmaz stated that all those responsible, including Binali Yıldırım and the senior management of the IMM at the time, should be summoned to testify. Expressing his reaction by saying, "Fuel costs from the IMM, driver salaries from the IMM, vehicle rentals from the IMM... This is plain robbery!" the CHP deputy demanded that these allegations be investigated by the judiciary.
