Extraordinary meeting from the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye!
Following the appointment of trustees to the Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti municipalities today, in addition to the Esenyurt Municipality, the Executive Committee of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye will hold an extraordinary meeting tomorrow at its headquarters in Ankara.

Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has called the TBB Executive Committee to an extraordinary meeting in Ankara tomorrow following the removal of several mayors from office and the appointment of trustees in their place.
Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is in Egypt for the United Nations Habitat meeting, announced on his social media account that he would return from Cairo this evening due to the developments.
İmamoğlu stated, "In democracies, the continuity of the voter's will is essential. If an elected official is removed from office, they should be replaced by another elected official, namely one of the council members. The authority to elect belongs solely to the voter and cannot be transferred. I am returning this evening from Cairo, where I came for the UN Habitat meeting, and we are convening the TBB Executive Committee for an extraordinary meeting tomorrow."
The TBB Executive Committee meeting will convene at 09:00 at the TBB headquarters.
