Eylem Tok's trial in the US postponed
The trial of Eylem Tok and her son, which is being closely followed in Turkey, began in the US at 18:00. Eylem Tok and her son were apprehended in the US on June 14. Shortly after the hearing began, it was postponed to a later date.

Journalist Serra Karaçam, reporting for Halk TV from Washington DC, described the process as follows:
"They will be brought before the judge shortly. Today, it will be determined whether their detention will continue. There is a possibility that different decisions could be reached for Eylem Tok and Bülent Cihantimur. The question of whether they will be transferred to Florida from here will also be answered today."
Shortly after the hearing began at 18:00, news of a postponement arrived.
The US court postponed the hearing for Eylem Tok, one of the suspects in the fatal traffic accident, to June 27 and ruled that her detention shall continue.
The 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, who fled with his mother, is also scheduled to appear before a judge in the US today.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 1 in Eyüpsultan, one of three ATV vehicles in motion broke down. While the broken-down vehicle was being repaired on the side of the road, one of two vehicles traveling in the same direction struck the three ATVs, and Oğuz Murat Acı, one of the 5 people injured, lost his life.
It was determined that the 17-year-old driver, T.C., who caused the accident, fled the scene in a vehicle driven by his mother, Eylem Tok, and that they first traveled to Egypt and then to the US.
The temporary arrest request documents for the extradition of the suspects were submitted to the US authorities by the Ministry of Justice. The two individuals, who had been sought for some time, were apprehended and arrested in Boston on June 14.
