Eyüp Aksu addresses taxi drivers: Set your taximeters, Murat Kurum is coming

Eyüp Aksu, President of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers Chamber of Tradesmen, expressed his support for Murat Kurum, the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate, during his speech at the Taxi Drivers Meeting. Aksu declared, "We trust you infinitely. Set your taximeters again, Murat Kurum is coming."

Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate for the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, attended the Taxi Drivers Meeting program in Üsküdar.

Meeting with members of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers Chamber of Tradesmen, Kurum targeted the current IMM administration in his speech.

Claiming that the IMM has left the taxi issue unresolved, Kurum continued his speech as follows:

"The IMM has sought not to solve the problem by increasing the number of taxis, but to operate taxis by establishing a company within its own structure. The IMM cannot operate taxis; the law clearly rejects this. The law states, 'Commercial license plates can only be allocated to real persons who have chosen the profession of driving as their source of livelihood.' Now I ask you, is the IMM a real person? Of course not; the IMM is a legal entity, a public institution. This is the essence of the matter. Because of this administration's negligence, our citizens and our taxi tradesmen have been pitted against each other."

SUPPORT FOR MURAT KURUM FROM EYÜP AKSU

Following Kurum, Eyüp Aksu, President of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers Chamber of Tradesmen, took the podium. In his speech, Aksu declared his support for Murat Kurum.

Aksu used the following words in his speech:

"As taxi tradesmen, we do not forget those who do good or evil, those who interfere with our livelihood, those who make promises to us and do not keep them, those who threaten us and wag their fingers at us, those who constantly visit taxi stands to drink tea and ask how we are, those who support us in every UKOME meeting, those who support us on every platform, or those who always hinder us, Mr. Minister. As taxi tradesmen, everyone knows that just as our Minister wrote history during his ministry, he will write history in Istanbul. We trust you, we are sure of you. We are sure that you will manage Istanbul with common sense by consulting with us. Those who have wronged taxi drivers have never succeeded in politics, but we trust you infinitely. Set your taximeters again, Murat Kurum is coming."
