Cem Gölbaşı went to the workplace of a person named B.İ., who had mocked him with a photo of him from a fake social media account. The suspects, who assaulted B.İ. there, stayed at the workplace for a while and then left the shop, taking B.İ. with them. The suspects recorded the moments when they made B.İ. wear a wig and apologize, and shared it on social media. After the footage, B.İ. went to the police and filed a complaint against the suspects. The police launched an investigation into the matter.
During the work carried out, the identities of a total of 7 people, including Gölbaşı and those acting with him, were determined. An operation was carried out against the suspects. In the operation, 7 people, including Gölbaşı, were detained. During the searches at the addresses, 1 unlicensed pistol, 72 cartridges, 1 ballistic vest, 100 thousand 600 TL, 2 thousand 500 dollars, and 315 euros were seized.

In the prepared indictment, a prison sentence of 20 to 44 years was requested for Cem Gölbaşı on charges of 'torture', 'deprivation of liberty using force, threat, or deception', 'disclosing images and sounds related to private life', 'unlawful entry and remaining in an information system', 'unlawfully obtaining or disseminating personal data', and 'plunder in the workplace by more than one person together'. Along with Gölbaşı, prison sentences of varying rates were requested for H.M.Ş., I.A., S.Ş., Ş.B., U.Ö., and Y.A. for different crimes.

The indictment sent to the Bakırköy High Criminal Court has been accepted. Gölbaşı and 6 suspects will appear before the judge in the coming days. In his statement taken as part of the investigation, Cem Gölbaşı said that the idea of wearing a wig and shooting an apology video was proposed to him by the victim B.İ. Gölbaşı said, "I do not know the complainant B.İ. There is no hostility between us. Because I am a stand leader, I am exposed to smear campaigns on social media accounts." Gölbaşı stated that B.İ. offered to wear a wig and shoot an apology video, and that he accepted this situation.
