Fake cancer medication worth 2 billion TL seized in Istanbul
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 8 suspects were apprehended in the 'Hücre-10' operation targeting an organized crime group manufacturing counterfeit drugs. Six people have been arrested in connection with the fake medication, which has an estimated market value of 2 billion Turkish Lira.

The 'Hücre-10' operation was carried out in Istanbul against an organized crime group that manufactured fake cancer medication, led by an individual identified as K.U.
Following intelligence work conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, under the coordination of the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Department, it was determined that the counterfeit drugs produced in a workshop in the city were being stored at four separate locations.
Searches conducted at these addresses resulted in the seizure of 5 million fake pills, 100 thousand empty medicine boxes, 32 thousand brand labels, 9 filling machines used in the production of counterfeit drugs, 350 kilograms of powdered raw material, and 60 thousand various medical supplies.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 6 of the detained suspects have been arrested.
