Fake diploma 'Doctor' scandal: The truth emerged after surgery
In Ankara, an individual named V.K., who posed as a plastic surgeon, victimized a patient during a surgery performed with a fake diploma. The Ministry of Health took action after the scandal was uncovered.

B.K., a 38-year-old living in Ankara, underwent breast augmentation and tummy tuck surgery in 2021 at a private hospital in Keçiören, performed by V.K., who introduced himself as a plastic surgeon. However, following complications that developed after the surgery, B.K. consulted her doctor again.
DIPLOMA INQUIRY REVEALED THE TRUTH
Suspicious of V.K.'s behavior, B.K. took a photograph of the doctor's diploma and reported the situation to the university listed on the document. After the university responded that the diploma was "fake," B.K. filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION
Acting upon B.K.'s complaint, the Ministry of Health initiated an investigation to look into the fake diploma doctor scandal. The relevant department of the private hospital was sealed as of October 1, and the hospital was issued a suspension of operations and an administrative fine. The Ministry also filed a criminal complaint against V.K. for endangering public health.
