The fake diploma scandal has not remained limited to universities but has spread to various public institutions. Most recently, a statement issued by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has brought an e-signature scandal to light. Within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that unauthorized access to the system was gained by using the credentials of Ministry officials.

UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS WITH FAKE IDENTITY AT THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF NATIONAL REAL ESTATE

According to Halk TV columnist Bahadır Özgür, the fake diploma issue has extended beyond universities to critical areas such as the National Real Estate system. The indictment details the fake identity logins made to the General Directorate of National Real Estate. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change confirmed that the system was accessed with a fake identity.

In its written statement, the Ministry noted that the incident was noticed and resolved in a short time. The Ministry stated, "The moment the e-signature issued in the name of the Head of the General Sales Department was detected, it was canceled. Thus, access to the system was blocked and no transactions were performed."

NO TRANSACTIONS CARRIED OUT DESPITE E-SIGNATURE CANCELLATION

The Ministry emphasized that no transactions were carried out after the e-signature issued in the name of the Head of the General Sales Department was canceled. It was stated that during the investigation, the IP addresses of the individuals who produced the e-signature were identified, and a criminal complaint was filed with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on June 25, 2025, to initiate proceedings against these individuals.

MINISTRY TOOK SWIFT ACTION

The Ministry took immediate action upon realizing the login made with fake credentials at the General Directorate of National Real Estate. After learning that the system had been accessed via e-signature, the Head of the General Sales Department applied to the Ankara Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate and the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. On the same day, the issued e-signature was canceled, and the situation was reported to the Ministry's Guidance and Inspection Presidency.
