The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues its inspections against food products that threaten public health without interruption. Following comprehensive checks conducted across Turkey, an updated list of companies found to be engaging in imitation and adulteration has been shared with the public.
ANOTHER COMPANY IN ANKARA ON THE LIST
One of the companies included in the latest list published by the Ministry is Baldağ Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi, which operates in the Akyurt district of Ankara. Laboratory analysis of the product marketed by the company as "strained acacia flower honey (comb-strained)" revealed elements of imitation or adulteration.
WHAT DO IMITATION AND ADULTERATION MEAN?
Imitation refers to presenting one product as another, while adulteration refers to compromising the purity of an original product by adding other substances to it. Both practices pose a serious threat to consumer health and are considered criminal offenses under the law.
