Family crisis at Kazancı Holding: Mehmet Kazancı calls on Erdoğan for help

Tensions within the family at Kazancı Holding, the parent company of major firms such as Aksa Enerji, Aksa Elektrik, and Aksa Doğalgaz, have reached a new level. The disagreement between Cemil Kazancı and Mehmet Kazancı has peaked over the distribution of shares in the company. During the incident, Mehmet Kazancı placed a formal objection regarding the decision-making process and decided not to leave the holding's headquarters. Both parties called the police to the scene.

According to a report in Cumhuriyet, the police were unable to remove Mehmet Kazancı from the building because he is a shareholder. Sharing the developments with the public via social media, Mehmet Kazancı called on President Erdoğan for help.

In his published video message, Mehmet Kazancı stated the following:

"Today, I attended the general assembly at my own company. I had previously stated that the share distribution carried out at the general assembly was incorrect. I placed my objection, and my brother, having seized the majority with shares he obtained from our father—who is an Alzheimer's patient and currently has a completely closed mind—is trying to give me a small amount of money just for the sake of it. Beyond that, he says, 'The company is mine, you cannot get anything. Even if you go to court, I will buy the courts. You will not win any court case.'

I am asking for help from the press on this matter. I am also asking for help from our President; if he were to get involved in this matter himself, I would be honored as a fellow Rize native, and I would be very happy. The public needs to know about this issue now. I am no longer bothered by the fact that this struggle, which I have been fighting internally for so long without letting anyone know, is now being reflected in the press. I waited for so many years, and they never wanted to come to the table and settle the matter. My brother mocked me every time. Even though he is my younger brother, there is nothing to be done.

I will also file complaints against everyone who is on the board here and has signed off on these matters, accepting the fake share transfer he made. A serious, very large-scale fraud has been committed. I am saying things now that I did not say before, and I am not at all bothered by these appearing in the press.

I have done my duty for years; for me, the matter is over. From here on, it is up to everyone and the law. Perhaps our President will intervene in the matter."

While the outcome of the family dispute and the argument over share distribution remains a subject of curiosity, these developments at Kazancı Holding have sparked a new debate in the Turkish business world.
