Family Minister to discuss 'family' sensitivities with producers: 'We are receiving complaints'

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they will soon meet with TV series producers to discuss sensitivities regarding the "family".

In a statement to Milliyet columnist Zafer Şahin, Minister Göktaş said, "We view the family as both the seed and the soil of our state's plane tree. The family is the place where the strong generations that will build a strong Turkey will be raised."

Göktaş added, "We are receiving complaints that some TV series are negatively affecting our family structure. In this context, as part of our cooperation with RTÜK aimed at protecting and strengthening the family, we will soon meet with TV series producers. We will address our sensitivities in meetings that will also be attended by academics," she said.
