Family of Batın Barlas, who died in an accident, takes action: 'Fatma Zehra Kınık should be arrested'

The family of Batın Barlas Çeki, who lost their child in an accident caused by Fatma Zehra Kınık, daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, has filed an application with the prosecutor's office.

In the Kavacık neighborhood of Istanbul's Beykoz district, on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Street, a motorcycle driven by 17-year-old Yavuz Selim Öztürk collided with a car driven by Fatma Zehra Kınık.

17-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet, lost his life in the hospital.

Fatma Zehra Kınık, who was detained after the accident, was released pending trial.

In the accident report prepared, Fatma Zehra Kınık and the motorcycle driver were each found to be 50 percent at fault.

BATIN BARLAS'S FAMILY TAKES ACTION

According to a report by Ramazan Eğri from Ekoltv, Batın Barlas Çeki's grandfather Rıza Doğan, grandmother Havva Doğan, and their lawyer Uysal Uğurlu applied to the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to demand the arrest of Fatma Zehra Kınık.

Lawyer Uysal Uğurlu stated in a press release in front of the courthouse, "She was released in a way we cannot understand.

As a legal professional, this is a situation that wounds the conscience. We will be following the process.

We want the people who caused the accident to face the consequences to the fullest extent."

Batın Barlas Çeki's grandmother, Havva Doğan, said, "This is where words end. Our pain is immense. My daughter had no other children. We saw from the footage that the lady caused the accident there," she said.
