A tragic family drama unfolded yesterday evening in the Şeker neighborhood of Konya's Selçuklu district. According to the information obtained, Nadir Türkmen, who had previously been in prison and was recently released, began arguing with his mother, İsmehan Türkmen (45), and his sister, Nida Türkmen (19), for reasons yet unknown.
As the argument escalated, Nadir Türkmen opened fire with a handgun, first shooting his mother and sister, and then turning the weapon on himself. Following reports from neighbors who heard the gunshots, health and police teams were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Investigations at the scene confirmed that Nadir Türkmen and his sister, Nida Türkmen, had lost their lives. Their mother, İsmehan Türkmen, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, could not be saved despite all medical interventions and passed away in the early hours of the morning.
The bodies were released to family members following an autopsy. It was learned that the three deceased family members were sent to the Ağalar neighborhood of Konya's Ilgın district for burial.
