Famous actor asks Istanbul Police for help: The state fined him instead

Actor Altuğ Yücel requested help from the Istanbul Police Department via his X account. Yücel stated that traffic fines belonging to a state-owned provincial administration vehicle were being issued to his own vehicle due to a license plate similarity.

Actor Altuğ Yücel, in a post on his social media account X, expressed his frustration over a situation where a state-owned vehicle with the license plate AYZ 220 is constantly receiving traffic fines, but because traffic cameras misread the letter Z as the number 2, the fines are being issued to his own vehicle with the license plate AY 2220.

Stating that he has reported the incident to authorities many times but no solution has been found, Yücel noted that the fines keep coming to his vehicle and that he has to constantly apply to the court to have them cancelled.

Stating that he has even sent emails to the Governor's Office and the Ministry of Interior, Yücel noted that his vehicle is constantly being fined on the TEM highway and asked those who see the vehicle with the license plate AYZ 220 to warn its driver.

IN EVERY VIOLATION

Sharing a photo of the state-owned provincial administration vehicle on his X account and tagging the official social media account of the General Directorate of Security, Yücel stated that the vehicle belongs to the provincial administration, that every time it commits a traffic rule violation, a fine is issued to his own vehicle, and that the makes and colors of the vehicles do not even match.

Expressing that the license plate of the vehicle was written in an irregular manner without leaving a space between the letters and numbers, Yücel stated that the fines for the AYZ 220 vehicle are being issued to his own vehicle with the license plate AY 2220, that he has been fined 9 or 10 times since last July, and that he has had to apply to the court for fine cancellation each time.

Stating that the camera reads the Z as a 2 because it is written adjacently, Yücel appealed to the authorities, saying, "I beg you, please find a solution to this."

Yücel's post is as follows:

"Dear @istanbul_EGM officials…

This vehicle belongs to the provincial administration.

Every traffic rule violation by this vehicle is being issued to my vehicle. Yet, neither the make nor the color of our vehicles match.

The license plate of this vehicle has been written in an 'irregular manner' without leaving a space between the letters and numbers.

The fines for the vehicle with license plate AYZ 220 are being issued to my vehicle with license plate AY 2220. I have been fined 9 or 10 times since last July. Every time, I have to apply to the court for fine cancellation.

Because the camera reads the Z as a 2 since it is written adjacently.

I beg you, please find a solution to this.

I sent emails to the Governor's Office and the Ministry of Interior, but it continues.
