The Justice and Development Party (AKP) had submitted a legislative proposal to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to provide new resources for the Defense Industry Support Fund by collecting an annual fund contribution of 750 lira from those with credit card limits above 100,000 lira.

Following the proposal, citizens rebelled against the situation and expressed their reactions by calling their banks to try and lower their credit card limits.

Another reaction to the legislative proposal came from famous singer Mustafa Sandal. In a post on his X account, Sandal rebelled against the situation, saying, "I usually start the week by exercising, but I started this week by lowering my credit card limit to 99,000 TL. Have a good week..."
