Yeşilçam star Murat Soydan has passed away at the age of 83.
The sad news was announced by Soydan's daughter Mehveş Soydan: "We have lost my dear father. May we have patience."

Murat Soydan was born on October 2, 1940, in the Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli due to his father's civil service. His real name is Rüçhan Tercan. He attended primary and secondary school in Lüleburgaz and high school in Edirne. He came to Istanbul for university. While studying at the Academy of Economic Sciences, he also graduated from the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, Department of Turkish Music. At the same time, he worked as a civil servant at Tekel during his university education.
After completing his military service as a reserve officer, he entered cinema in 1966 by winning a competition organized by the magazine "Perde" together with Tanju Korel.
He began his cinema life in 1966 with the film "Kolsuz Kahraman" directed by Nejat Saydam. The cast of the film also included Cüneyt Arkın, Fatma Girik, and Suzan Avcı. Murat Soydan, one of the "leading men" of the 1970s, shared the lead role with Türkan Şoray and Hülya Koçyiğit in many films.
Murat Soydan, who acted in TV series and 221 films, served as the president of the Cinema Actors Association for a period.
In 1972, he won the Best Actor Award at the 9th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for his role in the film "Zulüm".
Murat Soydan has one child from his first marriage. He made his second marriage to Uğur Gül. He has two children named Ali and Mehveş.
Murat Soydan passed away on June 11, 2024.
