HE HAD BEEN UNDERGOING TREATMENT FOR THREE MONTHS
Sabri Ugan, one of the 'voices' of Turkish football that will not be forgotten, had announced in recent days that he had been receiving treatment for lung cancer for approximately 3 months. Ugan, who was etched in memories especially for his commentary on Champions League matches, passed away yesterday at the age of 62 in the hospital where he was being treated.

Sabri Ugan's son, Doruk Ugan, shared his father's funeral program on his social media account. The first ceremony for Sabri Ugan will be held tomorrow at 10:30 at the Levent Sports Writers Association. Ugan's funeral will be sent to his hometown of Sakarya following the funeral prayer to be held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque at noon. He will be buried at the Emirdağ Cemetery following the afternoon prayer at the Sakarya Orhan Mosque.

WHO IS SABRI UGAN?
Sabri Ugan was born in Sakarya in 1963. He started working as a reporter at the Sakarya Newspaper in 1985 and became the sports director in 1991. While working at the newspaper, he began his career as a commentator by calling a Sakaryaspor match. As a result of his successful commentary, Kanal 6 transferred him as an editor in 1994. From there, he moved to Star TV. Here, he called very important matches of Turkish teams in the Super League, Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. Later, Ugan left the Doğan Group and worked for many channels. Sabri Ugan, who also worked as a commentator in other branches of sports besides football, has a book titled 'Arda Turan: Lion-Hearted Captain'.
