Fatal workplace accident in Ankara: Scaffolding collapses, 3 workers fall from 12th floor to concrete ground

In an incident that occurred in the Sincan district of Ankara, the scaffolding used for exterior insulation work on an apartment building collapsed. Çetin Buru (39), Volkan Buru (34), and Mertcan Buru (27), who were on the scaffolding, fell from the 12th floor to the ground.
It was learned that Çetin Buru and Volkan Buru were brothers, and Mertcan Buru was their cousin. While Volkan Buru and Çetin Buru lost their lives at the scene, the other, Mertcan Buru, passed away at Sincan State Hospital, where he had been taken.
Eyewitness Selçuk Demirezen stated in his remarks to an İHA reporter, “3 friends fell to the ground. 1 was alive, 2 had fallen. The other one who was alive also passed away at the hospital. The scaffolding broke,” he said. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
