Father arrested for raping his two daughters cuts off his own genitals in prison

In Zonguldak, 45-year-old Ergin A., who was arrested on charges of sexually abusing his daughters, cut off his own genitals in prison. After being treated at the hospital and having the organ reattached, Ergin A. was sent back to prison.

On July 18, it was determined during an examination at the Women's and Children's Hospital that Ergin A.'s 17-year-old daughter was 18 weeks pregnant. In her statement, the girl revealed that Ergin A. had been sexually abusing her for 2-3 years. Furthermore, his other 15-year-old daughter also reported that her father had sexually abused her as well.

Following these accusations, Ergin A. was taken into custody by the gendarmerie at his home in the village and was sent to prison after being brought before the court.

I WANTED NO ONE TO BE HARMED

Ergin A., who had been staying at the Zonguldak M-Type Closed Penal Institution for about a week, cut off his genitals with a sharp object on July 25. Following the initial intervention by medical teams who arrived at the prison, Ergin A. and his severed organ were taken to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Hospital. In his statement to the gendarmerie while being treated at the hospital, Ergin A. stated that he had cut off his own genitals and that he had not been harmed by anyone. Ergin A.'s genitals were reattached, he was discharged, and he was sent back to prison following his treatment.

Regarding the incident, the children have been taken under state protection, and the judicial process is ongoing.
