The dispute that began on social media between journalist Fatih Altaylı and author Tuğçe Tatari has been taken to the judiciary. Tatari announced that Altaylı has filed a compensation lawsuit against her, alleging that she "violated his personal rights."
The polemic began following statements Altaylı made in May 2026 regarding his time at Habertürk. Altaylı had said that there was a "blacklist" for certain guests at the channel during that period, that he was able to bring HDP deputies on screen, and used the expression "thorns for a camel" regarding Sırrı Süreyya Önder later appearing on Mehmet Akif Ersoy's program.
Quoting these words by Altaylı, Tatari had used the expressions "Fatih Altaylı can be called, to put it mildly, devoid of morality and ill-mannered" in her post.
Tatari announced the lawsuit she stated was filed against her in a new post on her social media account. In her post, Tatari said, "Because of this post of mine, Fatih Altaylı has claimed that I violated his personal rights and has filed a compensation lawsuit."
I looked, I called him devoid of morality and ill-mannered... Well, why? Because he used the expression 'Thorns for a camel, for you...' referring to Sırrı Süreyya Önder. In short, Fatih Altaylı is always the same Fatih Altaylı. And on this occasion, let me repeat my post!
