Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was alleged to have paid a 100,000 euro (3.5 million TL) bill at a restaurant in Marmaris.

According to a report by Ufuk Özcan from Takvim, Bezos and his fiancée dined the previous evening with close friends they were hosting on their yacht at a restaurant within D Maris that specializes in Mediterranean and French cuisine. It was reported that Bezos paid a bill close to 100,000 euros (3.5 million TL) at the end of the night.

ALTAYLI DENIES

Stating that the restaurant is located inside a hotel in Datça, journalist Fatih Altaylı noted that the restaurant is like a branch of a restaurant in Cannes, France, and said he had dined at the same place as Bezos two weeks ago.

Calling the report "complete nonsense," Altaylı said the following:

"For a group of 7-8 or 10 people, the bill they paid there would be around 250,000 to 300,000 lira at most. Even if you ate and drank very extravagantly at that restaurant, it would be 10,000 or 20,000 lira. Normal people pay bills of 3,000 to 4,000 lira there. These journalists are making things up."
