Fatih Altaylı’s ‘Dilan Polat’ reminder: When the 3-day mourning period ends, let’s declare another for Turkish justice

Journalist Fatih Altaylı, in the “A new mourning is needed” section of his article titled “The Jewish lobby is marking doors with crosses” published today, recalled the Dilan Polat case.

“The war that Hamas started and Israel responded to mercilessly has begun to make us forget what is happening in our own country,” said Fatih Altaylı, noting that the Dilan Polat file has been forgotten.

The relevant section of Fatih Altaylı’s article is as follows;

“Learning the truth about the Dilan Polat case, which has largely captured the public’s interest and contains a full-blown scandal, is being prevented by a court order.

The case, in which money laundering by a gang has been documented by the relevant public institutions and which might reveal a cautionary tale and a major criminal organization for everyone, is being obscured by a 'veil of secrecy' at the request of the prosecutor's office itself.

Clearly, some individuals likely to be the subject of this file are already being protected, and the names behind the Polats are being hidden, and perhaps efforts are being made to make the case disappear entirely.

At the point justice has reached, question marks are being created in the public mind regarding a case involving such large sums of money, and trust in justice is being shaken to its core once again.

When the 3-day mourning period we declared for Gaza ends, let’s declare another for Turkish justice. But three days is not enough for such a massacre. It should be at least 1 month.”
