Fatih Altaylı responds to 'July 9' rumors in political circles: 'It happens when the government wants it to'; they don't care about NATO

Reacting to the rumors of "What will happen on July 9?", Fatih Altaylı said, "Neither do our people care about NATO or the international community, nor do they care about what is happening here. Therefore, if something is going to happen, it will happen whenever the government feels like it. July 9 is not a requirement. Is this a national lottery where the grand prize must hit someone on the 9th, 19th, or 29th of every month? It can be drawn at any moment!" 

In the İBB case, İmamoğlu had requested to be the last person to present his defense because he was labeled as an 'organization leader' in the indictment, and the court had accepted this request.

Following rumors of a 'new operation' in political circles, the 'final defense' right granted to İmamoğlu was revoked.

İmamoğlu criticized the court's decision to complete the interim session on July 8-9 with the words, "What will happen on July 9?". Journalist Fatih Altaylı reacted to the rumors emphasizing July 9.

"There is an atmosphere in the media and politics that 'very bad things will happen after July 9.'

The scenario they call bad things is as follows:

'The government is waiting for the NATO summit to end and is holding off on certain operations because it does not want its image to be tarnished before the NATO summit. As soon as the NATO summit ends, the parliamentary immunity of Özgür Özel and the CHP members acting with him will be lifted, and trials regarding the many summaries of proceedings pending in the Turkish Grand National Assembly will begin; Özgür Özel might even be arrested. An operation will also be carried out against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. Yavaş will also be removed from office and perhaps thrown in jail.'

This is how the writers and scenario writers list what will happen as soon as the NATO summit ends.

If other evils that could be done to the opposition come to your mind, you can add them.

Frankly, I cannot really agree with these.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these won't happen, they won't happen, they wouldn't go that far, etc.

All of these could happen, and some of them will.

But I do not believe that the government is going to such lengths as waiting for the NATO summit to end to do these things, or that it hasn't done them until now because it is afraid of NATO or the leaders at NATO, and that it will do them immediately after the summit.

If the government is not doing these things, it is not because it cannot, or because it is afraid of NATO or fears international reactions, but because it does not feel the need to, because it thinks the time has not yet come, because it sees that doing these things will not serve its political interests, or at least because it does not need to do them for now.

Are you still not aware of this: what happens in Turkey is of absolutely no concern to the world, especially the world you 'think is civilized.'

While the issue of European security is so much on the agenda, and all of Europe sincerely believes there is a Russian threat, and Turkey stands in a very important place in the regional balance, do you really think that NATO member countries will care about the arrest or trial of a politician in Turkey?

You saw it, Dutch journalist Deniz Göktaş asked the Trump-sycophant NATO Secretary General about the other arrests.

What did the guy say? 'Democracy is not just about the ballot box.'

Really? Is that so?

Look at the answer. It's good that he said that, that's a separate matter, but at the same time, it showed that nobody cares about what is going on in Turkey.

That is why you shouldn't care so much about July 9.

Neither do our people care about NATO or the international community, nor do they care about what is happening here.

Therefore, if something is going to happen, it will happen whenever the government feels like it.

July 9 is not a requirement.
