A group called for a caliphate during a protest held in Fatih, Istanbul.
A large crowd was filmed chanting, 'One ummah, one state, one solution: the caliphate'.
"WILL SALMAN BE THE CALIPH?"
Addressing the issue in an article on his own website, Altaylı stated the following:
"Someone, for instance that 'mastermind' you love so much, said, 'Hey, this caliphate was good. Let's bring it back!'
Tell me, 'Who will be the caliph? Will it be the current ruler of the holy lands and the richest leader in the Islamic world, Saudi Arabia's leader? Will Mohammed bin Salman be the Caliph?
"HE IS SEEN AS THE MOST SUITABLE"
Well, but doesn't it say the Caliph must be from the Quraish tribe? Isn't that the reason a group of Arabs gave for not recognizing the Ottoman caliphate! The Saudi dynasty is not from the Quraish either.
What a headache. Then who will it be? The King of Jordan?
After all, he is from the Hashemite lineage, isn't he the grandson of Sharif Hussein of Mecca? He is seen as the most suitable!
If not him, it could actually be the former King of Iraq, Faisal. Same lineage, same family. But who would care about tiny Jordan or a king without a throne!
Could the leader of Egypt be the most suitable? After all, the intellectual leadership of the Islamic World is there.
"TURKEY'S TURN HAS NOT COME"
Or will the leader of Indonesia, with a population of 270 million, be the caliph as the Islamic country with the highest population? Or will Pakistan, with its 240 million Muslim population, claim the caliphate by saying, 'No, their population is higher, but I have more Muslims'?
As you can see, Turkey's turn has not come yet! Let's say none of these countries wanted it.
The task fell to Turkey's leader. Which of these countries would say yes to Turkey's leader becoming the caliph?
If you could just explain it so we know, who will determine the caliph and how will they choose! Who is your candidate?"
