The CHP, which has left its 38th Ordinary Congress behind, held its first Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting yesterday (November 13).

After the MYK meeting chaired by Chairman Özgür Özel, the party's new spokesperson, Deniz Yücel, held a press conference.

"THE LOCAL ELECTION CALENDAR HAS NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED YET"

Regarding primary elections and alliances, CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated, "The local election calendar has not been announced yet. Ultimately, we will take every necessary step to win, for the parties we will form alliances with to win, and furthermore, for our country's democracy to win. Our door is open for steps to be taken on these issues."

"THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT PRIMARIES"

Fatih Portakal reacted sharply to Yücel's statements on primaries and alliances at the MYK meeting. Stating that sentences starting with "but" and "however" are not a good sign, Portakal said, "Mr. Deniz, sentences starting with 'but' and 'however' are not pleasant at all. Why? You promised primaries. We will give our grade to Özgür Özel as follows: First, we will look at what he does at the party statute congress, and second, we will look at how he views primaries. We will see if the party will bring back those who are disgruntled. When the word 'but' enters the equation, they will try to make people forget about primaries. Yet, you have 4.5 months ahead of you; you can do this."
