Ferry disaster off the coast of Kyrenia: Search operations for 18 missing people continue on the second day

Search and rescue operations for 18 people reported missing following the disaster caused by a ferry capsizing off the coast of Kyrenia have resumed on their second day.

While it was determined that there were fatalities during the operations conducted in the region on the first day, teams have intensified scanning activities on the sea surface and in the surrounding area to reach the missing individuals.

It was reported that aerial assets are also supporting the search and rescue efforts. It was stated that the teams are operating in a coordinated manner within the designated search zones.

Authorities announced that the operations will continue as long as weather and sea conditions permit.
