Feti Yıldız explains: 'There is no disagreement within the People's Alliance regarding the right to hope'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s statement, “Our decision is clear until Anatolia returns to peace, Öcalan to hope, the Ahmet's to their posts, and Demirtaş to his home,” continues to hold its place on the agenda.

MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made statements to journalists before the commission meeting at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Speaking about the agenda of the opening commission, Yıldız noted that a framework text would be prepared and that the process would not take too long. Yıldız used the expressions, “It is not certain if this is the last meeting, but it is possible; it could be the penultimate one. We will prepare the framework text. I don't think it will take too long. We cannot give a definite date today, but it won't take too long. April is a late month.”

"COURTS DECIDE ON DEMİRTAŞ'S RELEASE, ECHR DECISIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED"

Evaluating Bahçeli's much-discussed remarks on Öcalan and Demirtaş, Yıldız said, "Courts decide on Demirtaş's release. ECHR decisions must be followed. If the ECHR has seen a violation and there is a statement regarding his release, then he must be released. Our leader made a statement summarizing the entire process. We don't actually need to make a statement on top of that.”

"THERE IS NO DISAGREEMENT IN THE ALLIANCE REGARDING THE RIGHT TO HOPE"

Speaking about the discussions on the right to hope for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, Yıldız said, “There is no disagreement within the People's Alliance regarding the right to hope.”

"THERE IS NO TURNING BACK NOW"

Commenting on the second opening process called a Terror-Free Turkey by saying “There is no turning back now,” Yıldız also stated that views suggesting there is no consensus on this issue within the People's Alliance do not reflect the truth.

Yıldız said, "Everything will get better day by day. The Terror-Free Turkey process has evolved into a terror-free region process. We haven't had a martyr in the last 6 months, what does this mean? We will conclude this successfully. There is no turning back from this point on, this matter is finished. We are in complete harmony with the People's Alliance."

HE ALSO MADE A STATEMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Making a post on his social media account shortly before the meeting, Yıldız stated the following:

"The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission will meet at 14:00 under the direction of our Speaker of the Parliament to prepare a joint report in consensus. The framework of the legal regulations regarding the process will be created in a framework that is clear, predictable, compatible with the principles of the rule of law, does not contradict ECHR and Constitutional Court decisions, is committed to the principle of the supremacy of law, and does not erode the carrier value system of legal norms. The ideal of a 'Terror-Free Turkey' has moved beyond being merely an internal security strategy and has been placed at the center of the regional security architecture."
