Feti Yıldız says 'the blackmail potential of bargaining parties must be zeroed out': Calls for change
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made evaluations regarding the proposed changes to the Law on Political Parties, stating that the establishment criteria for political parties should be reconsidered. Yıldız also called for preventing politics from being used as a tool for personal gain and rent-seeking, stating, "Regulations that do not contradict the Constitution and laws must be made, and the blackmail potential of bargaining parties must be zeroed out."

Following the statements by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli that changes to the election and political party legislation, which would strengthen the system and resolve existing shortcomings, should be addressed in harmony with new constitutional efforts, Yıldız spoke to Bengü Türk on the matter.

Stating that political parties are one of the fundamental elements of democratic life, Yıldız expressed that some structures can turn politics into a tool for personal gain and economic rent-seeking. Emphasizing that regulations to be made regarding such formations must be in compliance with the Constitution and international conventions, Yıldız spoke as follows:
“To close this field to party models established as a marketable commodity or a private business venture, and to merchants who want to use politics as a tool for personal gain and rent-seeking, regulations that do not contradict international conventions, the Constitution, and laws must be made, and the blackmail potential of bargaining parties must be zeroed out.”
The MHP Deputy Chairman stated that political parties should be a part of democratic competition, while sending the message that party structures must be prevented from turning into tools for obtaining personal benefits.
